MCEA Chapter 152 Retiree Member Charles Hout will celebrate his 51st Anniversary with MCEA next month in April 2010! Charles worked for the State Highway for over 40 years and was an active member of Chapter 81 (Roads/Construction in Cumberland). He is now enjoying his retirement and also volunteers with the Masonic Organization. Congratulations Charles!

As of January 2010, Agnes Valenzia is our new MCEA Secretary, and Allen Evans is our new member on the Board of Directors. His term will expire at the end of 2010.

Nomination Form for New Board of Directors Positions

Longtime Chapter 75 MCEA Member Laura Nottingham retired on June 30, 2009 after 32 1/2 years of state service at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Her retirement party was held on Sept. 18, 2009 and was a phenomenal success. Laura is enjoying her retirement with her husband, Whitt Nottingham, and continues to be an active member of Chapter 75.

To all Chapter Presidents, Area Governors, and Board of Directors - Bylaws submission deadline date is July 9, 2010. No bylaws will be accepted after this date. Please forward your proposals to the attention of the Bylaws Committee.

MCEA's newly elected President is Stephen J. Schaefer. The new Officers are Linda Day, First Vice President; Michael Miller, Second Vice President; Phyllis Lickliter, Treasurer; and David Stewart, Secretary. They will serve a two year term, expiring in 2011. The new Board of Directors are Anna Cluster, Christopher Farnell, Marion Barnard Jones, Antionette Perry, and Agnes Valenzia. They will all serve a two year term, and Ms. Valenzia will serve a one year term. Congratulations to the new leadership of MCEA and welcome aboard!

Congratulations to our two $50.00 winners from our MCEA booth at the MACO event (Maryland Association of Counties Conference), held in Ocean City from August 12-15. Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to two outstanding, long-time, Area V MCEA members, Edward Boyce (Chapter 122) and Percy "Leroy" White (Chapter 167). Mr. Boyce will retire on July 1, 2009 and has been an active Chapter President of Wicomico County Assessment and Taxation for 32 years. Mr. White has been an active Chapter President of Eastern Correctional Chapter non-officers for 19 years and has retired on June 1, 2009. Congratulations to both of you and enjoy your well-deserved retirement!
---------------------------------------------------------------------Ms. Bonnie Parks and Ms. Linda Skinner, both MCEA members for over 30 years, recently retired from the Dietary Department at the Eastern Shore Hospital Center in Cambridge. Ms. Donna Robinson, President of Chapter 18, also recognized and awarded them Certificates of Appreciation for their loyal support as MCEA members of Chapter 18 (Eastern Shore Hospital Center). Congratulations ladies!
